About Starfish Youth Music

In 6 years Starfish has grown fom a few wannabes and an amp into a major on-going music fest... supported by institutions. And it's still indie. The members create the music. Experienced staff work to help. Starfish puts on at east 5 big gigs a year, raising money for the club and sometimes for others as well. its all about doing your own thing and helping others, raising the roof, laying foundatons for life.

Starfish is based on a series of programmes from beginners to competent gigging bands. Typically it might take 2-3 years to get through, then carry on playing, maybe feed back as a tutor.

There is Starfish Outreach too. In 2001 we set up a sister club (Union of Music, Peacehaven) still going strong, and we work with community groups and other organisations to provide music making events and workshops throughout the district.
